Boxiebag is an insulated, reusable shopping bag that folds completely flat, then pops open into a structured box. It stands up on its own and stays open while you load it, so both hands are free at checkout, at the trunk or at the kitchen counter. A split lid with built-in magnets closes itself and stays shut.
How big is a Boxiebag?
Open, a Boxiebag measures 13 inches wide, 13 inches high and 11 inches deep. Folded flat it measures 13 x 13 x 1.5 inches, so it slides behind a car seat, into a drawer or onto a pantry shelf.
How much can it hold?
Each Boxiebag holds up to 25 lb. The flat, reinforced base keeps groceries upright so nothing tips over on the drive home.
How much does the bag weigh?
An empty Boxiebag weighs 2.5 lb. The current design is a full pound lighter than the original Boxiebag.
How long does a Boxiebag keep food cold or hot?
The insulated walls slow temperature change for both cold and hot items. How long depends on what is inside. A bag filled with frozen or chilled items holds its temperature far longer than one cold item packed among room-temperature groceries. For best results, group your cold items together in one bag and your hot items together in another.
Is a Boxiebag a cooler?
Not exactly. A Boxiebag is an insulated shopping bag made for the trip home from the store, takeout runs, potlucks, picnics and tailgates. It is lighter than a hard cooler and folds flat when you are done. Think of it as the option for anywhere a cooler is too much and a tote is too little.
How is it different from a regular reusable grocery bag?
Regular totes are floppy, fall over in the trunk and have to be held open while you load them. A Boxiebag is a structured box that stands up and stays open by itself, keeps items upright, is insulated, closes with a magnetic lid and stacks bag on top of bag in the car.
How does the lid work?
The two-piece split lid has magnets built in. Let go and the lid closes itself and stays shut. Lift it open with one hand. There is no zipper and no loud hook-and-loop.
Can Boxiebags be stacked?
Yes. The box shape and flat lid let you stack one Boxiebag on top of another in the trunk, which keeps big shopping trips organized.
What is a Boxiebag good for besides groceries?
Warehouse club runs, farmers markets, takeout, potlucks, picnics, beach days, tailgates, road trips and sports weekends. Many people also keep one in the car as an errand organizer for returns and packages.
What colors and pack sizes are available?
Boxiebag comes in Natural and Black. On boxiebag.com each color is sold as a single bag, a 2-pack or a 3-pack, and the packs cost less per bag than singles.
What changed from the original Boxiebag?
The current Boxiebag is a full pound lighter, and magnets have replaced the hook-and-loop lid closure, so the lid closes itself.
